It’s a pleasant time to visit the park as nature emerges from winter dormancy, vegetation grows, flowers appear, birds sing and felines begin their mating displays… Among primates and lemurs, the end of winter often marks the arrival of the first babies of the year.

In spring, it’s also when felines start to bask in the sun and shed their heavy winter coat. An interesting transition period in more ways than one… However, be sure to arrive at opening or stay until the end of the day to see active felines.

Summer is also a pleasant time to visit the park. Newborns become more skilled and progress in their learning. Climbing trees and playing are their main activities. However, visitors must be vigilant: depending on temperatures, felines may hide better to shelter from the sun. It is therefore preferable to take advantage of early afternoon when carnivores are less active to discover the optional Terre de Singes circuit and then return to finish your visit to Lumigny Safari Reserve from 3pm onwards.

Other activities are available to enhance your afternoon such as lemur feeding time, the Safari Train or 3D cinema.

This is a season appreciated by many park subscribers. The drop in temperatures has a positive effect on animal behavior: they become more active. They are more easily seen than in summer, this year’s babies are more confident and spend a lot of time playing in the open. This is THE best time to see baby felines.

Animals are also preparing for winter as they begin to eat more to build up their winter coat.

This is the time to come and observe the magnificent winter coat of snow leopards, lynx, Siberian tigers and wildcats… Moreover, contrary to popular belief, in winter, animals are very easily visible, even lions and panthers, because there are no leaves in the trees or vegetation on the ground. They are not afraid of the cold because they eat twice as much food as in summer to have fat reserves and a fluffy coat. Small felines and lemurs stay warm.
